“I believe that birth is a rite of passage and that women should be supported through this time with love, respect and trust. I am passionate about meeting women and families where they are, always offering a non-judgemental ear and sharing information to help each woman, baby and family meet their own goals.”
Registered Midwife, Kristy Benson has jointed our team at Outreach Doctors for a limited time. She is passionate about walking with women and their families through pregnancy into early parenthood.
For the past two years, Kristy has been working in Indigenous Services at University, supporting deadly mob to achieve their goals and feel honoured to have the opportunity to hold space for mob during pregnancy and parenthood.
A Registered Midwife can help you with:
Antenatal care: checking yours and bubs health, making sure you know about all of the tests offered in pregnancy, keeping you and bub healthy, and much more!
Education: about pregnancy, diet, smoking/drugs/alcohol in pregnancy, looking after yourself, vaccines, birth, feeding your baby, normal baby behaviour, early parenthood and much more!
Postnatal care: checking in on your health, weighing and measuring baby, breastfeeding support, baby milestones, postnatal mental health and much more!
Kristy is moving to Rockhampton at the end of January to commence with Queensland Health’s Rockhampton Hospital, Midwifery Group Practice. We are blessed to have Kristy on board for the next 8 weeks and encourage anyone to access Kristy while she is on board between now and end of January 2022.
